About the Artist
Caricature Artist Sydney,
Australia
Being my true passion, Art has been an ongoing pastime over the
past 45 years.
The road has not been straight and I have acquired a Bachelor
Degree in Electrical Engineering (Uni of Sydney). I went on working full-time
in the field of Engineering for the next 20 odd years. My last job was working
in Downer Rail P/L (13 years). I am the Electrical Engineer who designed the
entire Lighting system in the currently running Waratah Train fleet in Sydney, I
was also heavily involved in other critical systems of the train.
I also spent time to develop my skill in the field of Art. Along
the way, I went to Julian Ashton Art School for drawing course and did one year
of Architecture and six months of Graphic Design certificates. I also spent 1 year working in Novasoft
Technology, doing computer animation, using Adobe 3D Studio Max and Photoshop. My
work experience in the field of Art includes working as an
"In-betweener" in Walt Disney Cartoon Animations; a political
cartoonist in Sydney Local – a local newspaper in Sydney. While working with
Sydney Local I drew political cartoons with satirical twists. These cartoons
were well received and appreciated by the general public. In particular, it was
the facial features of the subjects captured that was well remembered. As a
Caricature and Portrait Artist, I have
over ten years experience as a pavement artist, having drawn literally
thousands of people in various places in Sydney in the past, including Circular
Quay and Kings Cross.
I am from Hong Kong by birth, currently residing in Sydney,
Australia. Now reaching the stage of life that I can choose what I enjoy doing
most, I decided to devote more time in Art. I can be contacted online (email:
sp@pong.com.au).
I can also be found by Google search on "Elvis
sculpture" or "007 caricature", where my homepage ranking is on
top.
